A webinar on ‘10 Volume Ikeda Study Series’ authored by Dr. N. Radhakrishnan was organized by BSG and Gandhi Media Centre, on Tuesday, 17th August 2021. The webinar focussed on the book authored by Dr. Radhakrishnan titled ‘Ikeda: Converting Faith into Action’.

In the 10-volume Ikeda Study series, Dr Radhakrishnan focusses on President Ikeda’s world of activism, vision, and new thoughts with which he continues to influence people around the world.

Eminent speakers who spoke at the webinar included Mr. Luis Nieves, CEO, AUL Corporation, Dr Sethu Kumanan, Chairman, Soka Ikeda Women’s College, Mr. Michael Kok, Vice General Director Soka Gakkai Malaysia, Chairman & CEO SISM, Mr. Bernard Leong, COO, Soka International School Malaysia, Dr Namrata Sharma, Professor, State University of New York, Ms. Li Jin Haw, Director, Corporate Affairs and Community Relations, SSA, and Mr. Michael Yap, Deputy Director General, SSA.

On behalf of BSG, Mr Vishesh Gupta, Chairperson, and Dr Akash Ouchi, Honorary Deputy Chairperson addressed the gathering.

The speakers shared their views from different chapters of the book and spoke about a variety of topics. Ms. Ms. Li Jin Haw reminisced the historic meeting of President Ikeda and Dr Radhakrishnan Mr Michael Kok shared details of the dialogues of President Ikeda with various world leaders and Bernard Leong talked about his interactions with President Ikeda and how these encounters had a profound impact on his life.

The speakers spoke about the relevance and significance of dialogue and inner transformation as demonstrated by President Ikeda through his own example. His dialogues with leading personalities of the world have demonstrated that ‘Dialogue’ is the genuine seed of ‘Human Revolution’.

Several thought-provoking quotes from the book were shared by the speakers:

  • “There is no leader who is as active as Mr Ikeda in conducting dialogues with people in various realms of society, in developing tide of mutual understanding that encircles the globe, and in leading the way to a new world of peace and friendship”
  • “Having held over 1500 dialogues during the last four decades with remarkable felicity and elan, President Ikeda could claim distinction for raising the power of dialogue to higher levels since Socrates and Plato”

In his concluding speech, Dr N Radhakrishnan expressed his deep gratitude to all the speakers for participating in the webinar and for sharing their learnings from the book with everyone.

This webinar, attended by over 1000 members and friends of BSG, was the 7th webinar in the series of webinars being organised to commemorate the 60th Anniversary of President Ikeda’s first visit to India in the year 1961.
