A group of students from the college and presented the panels and explained the need to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) through individual actions. Several examples of the ‘Power of One’ to bring about a great transformation in society, from the exhibition panels, were shared by the students.

The exhibition concluded with a Question-Answer session in which students asked various questions on implementation of SDGs at an individual level and on a larger scale.

Seeds of Hope and Action (SOHA) exhibition was held for the students of Government Rehabilitation Institute for Intellectual Disabilities (GRIID), Chandigarh on 28th February 2022.

SOHA Exhibition held for students of GRIID, Chandigarh

The exhibition was held in hybrid mode with several students viewing the panels together from their classrooms and many others through who were connected online.

The exhibition panels were presented to the students by the special educators. The educators used several simple examples to explain the importance of caring for our environment.

The exhibition concluded with several students sharing the steps that they are going to take in their daily lives towards achieving the SDGs

Seeds of Hope & Action’ (SOHA) held in Narsee Monji College, Mumbai

The exhibition is a joint initiative of the SGI and the Earth Charter International and it introduces a positive vision for sustainable living that can contribute to the realization of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The online exhibition was organized with the joint efforts by the BSG and the Rotaract Club Narsee of Narsee Monji College, Mumbai. Around 125 students and faculty viewed the exhibition.

The exhibition started with an introductory video detailing the activities of BSG and SGI President Daisaku Ikeda. This was followed by a song and a dance performance by the students.

A group of students from the college and from Campus group of BSG presented the panels and elaborated on the need to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) through individual actions. Several examples of the ‘Power of One’ to bring about a great transformation in society, from the exhibition panels, were shared by the students.

The exhibition concluded with a Question-Answer session in which students asked various questions on implementation of SDGs at an individual level and on a larger scale.

College Faculty, Prof. Vaishali Kurhekar, thanked BSG for organizing the exhibition and reiterated the message of the panels that passion and energy of students can become the source of great change.

Students Participate in Discussion on SDGs

‘Seeds of Hope & Action (SOHA): Making the SDGs a Reality’ exhibition was held on 21st February 2022 at Surest Gyan Vihar University, Jaipur. Around 150 students and faculty viewed the exhibition.

The exhibition is a joint initiative of the SGI and the Earth Charter International and it introduces a positive vision for sustainable living that can contribute to the realization of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The exhibition started with an introductory video detailing the activities of BSG and SGI President Daisaku Ikeda.

A group of students from the SDG Club of the University presented the panels and elaborated on the panels and shared the need to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) through individual actions. The students shared in detail about several SDGs and substantiated their presentation with relevant data and examples.

The exhibition concluded with a Question-Answer session in which students asked various questions and shared their perspectives on implementation of SDGs at an individual level.

Dr Ritu Gilhotra, President of SGVU, thanked BSG for organizing the exhibition and encouraged the students can become the source of great change.

Planting Seeds of Hope in Youth

Seeds of Hope & Action’ (SOHA) held in IIS University (Deemed to be university), Jaipur

The Exhibition ‘Seeds of Hope & Action (SOHA): Making the SDGs a Reality’ was held on 21st February 2022 at IIS Girls University, Jaipur. Around 100 students and faculty viewed the exhibition.

The purpose of the exhibition was to raise awareness and educate the youth about the 17 Sustainable Development Goals proposed by the United Nations. In addition, the panels conveyed the message of hope and the power of one single individual.

This SOHA exhibition introduced the importance of sustainable living so that we can contribute to the realization of the SDGs. Effective communication of important concepts related to sustainability and and how they are the key to furthering humanity’s efforts to fulfill the SDGs was aided by several case studies of individuals from around the world who strove to bring about a positive change in their communities.

The students of IIS presented the panels and engaged the audience in a lively discussion.

Prof. Sharad Rathore, thanked BSG for organizing the exhibition and echoed the significance of our individual actions which were conveyed by the panels.

Empowering Youth to realize SDGs

The Exhibition ‘Seeds of Hope & Action (SOHA): Making the SDGs a Reality’ was held at IES Management College and Research Center, Mumbai on 21st February 2022. The exhibition was viewed by around 75 students and faculty.

A group of 12 students from IES gave a detailed presentation on the panels and shared their own vision of a sustainable world. The presentation was followed by an interactive QnA session.

This SOHA exhibition introduced the importance of sustainable living so that we can contribute to the realization of the SDGs. Effective communication of important concepts related to sustainability and and how they are the key to furthering humanity’s efforts to fulfill the SDGs was aided by several case studies of individuals from around the world who strove to bring about a positive change in their communities.

The Exhibition ‘Seeds of Hope & Action (SOHA): Making the SDGs a Reality’ was held on 11th February 2022 at Nahar International School, Mumbai. Around 100 students and teachers viewed the exhibition.

The purpose of the exhibition was to raise awareness and educate the youth about the 17 Sustainable Development Goals proposed by the United Nations. The exhibition is divided into 5 sections namely – Inspire, Learn, Reflect, Empower, Act and Lead – a formula developed by SGI President Daisaku Ikeda

This SOHA exhibition introduced a pragmatic vision for sustainable living so that we can contribute to the realization of the SDGs. Effective communication of these concepts and how they are the key to furthering humanity’s efforts to fulfill the SDGs was aided by several real-life stories of individuals who strived to bring about a positive change in response to the social situations they found themselves in.

The students presented their own interpretations of the exhibition panels and its reception by those in attendance demonstrated the hours of preparation they put in as well as the ideas they brainstormed.

The exhibition is a joint initiative of the SGI and the Earth Charter International and it introduces a positive vision for sustainable living that can contribute to the realization of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The online exhibition was organized with the joint efforts by the BSG and the Peace Club of Kirori Mal College, Delhi University. Around 200 students and faculty viewed the exhibition. This was the first online exhibition of 2022.

The exhibition started with an introductory video detailing the activities of BSG and SGI President Daisaku Ikeda. This was followed by a melodious rendition of the song ‘Heal the World’ by a group of students.

A group of students from the college and from Campus group of BSG presented the panels and elaborated on the need to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) through individual actions. The Exhibition ‘Seeds of Hope & Action (SOHA): Making the SDGs a Reality’ was held on 30th October 2021 at Indian Institute of Forest Management (IIFM), Bhopal

The exhibition is a joint initiative of the SGI and the Earth Charter International and it introduces a positive vision for sustainable living that can contribute to the realization of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The online exhibition, which was organized by the Climate Change and Environment Core Competency Cell (C2EC3), was viewed by around 100 students and faculty. A training session was organized by BSG for the students of the Institute about the various aspects of the exhibition. The students in turn enthusiastically leaned and further explained every panel to their peers and faculty.

A powerful Violin recital and medley of songs was presented by the students as a part of the program. A short film introducing BSG and its activities was also screened for the audience. The exhibition concluded with an ‘interaction session’ in which students asked various questions on Climate Action on the upcoming COP26 event.

Dr. Bhaskar Sinha, Associate Professor and Chairperson, Centre for Climate Change Studies, thanked BSG for organizing the session and hoped to hold similar sessions in the future.

The online exhibition was viewed by around 200 students on both days. A training session was organized by BSG for the school students about the various aspects of the exhibition. The students in turn enthusiastically leaned and further explained every panel to the viewers who included their fellow students and teachers.

The viewing of the panels was followed by screening of the film “A Quiet Revolution”. The screening was followed by a ‘quiz’ in which the students were asked questions based on the film. The quiz had an enthusiastic response from the students.

The exhibition concluded with an ‘interaction session’ in which students asked questions on how they can contribute to the SDGs.

Bro. Thampy Alex, Principal, Montfort School and many teachers also joined the students in viewing the exhibition.

The Exhibition ‘Seeds of Hope & Action (SOHA): Making the SDGs a Reality’ was held on 14th September 2021 at Whistling Woods International, Mumbai

The exhibition is a joint initiative of the SGI and the Earth Charter International and it introduces a positive vision for sustainable living that can contribute to the realization of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The virtual exhibition was viewed by around 300 students. A group of 9 students presented the panels to their fellow students with great enthusiasm. The students added lot of additional information to the panels and also made a short video on the importance of respecting our environment.

The presentation of the exhibition was followed by a Panel discussion based on Sustainable Development Goals: 17 Goals to transform our world. The participants in the panel discussion included Mr Bittu Sahgal, (Environmental Activist and Writer), Mr Dee Wood, (Musician and Educator). BSG was represented by Mr. Vikas Verma (Regional Head (North) UNDP India). The panelists deliberated on the significance of SDGs and how each of us can play an active role in actualizing them.

Ms. Meghna Ghai Puri, President, Whistling Woods International, thanked BSG for organizing the exhibition and appreciated BSG’s efforts in realising the SDGs.

The exhibition is a joint initiative of the SGI and the Earth Charter International and it introduces a positive vision for sustainable living that can contribute to the realization of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The virtual exhibition was viewed by around 400 students. A group of 10 students presented the panels to their fellow students with great enthusiasm. The students added lot of additional information to the panels and made their presentation very rich and informative. The participating students also showed their zeal and enthusiasm to work for sustainability. They also shared their thoughts and ideas on initiatives that can be taken at grassroots level towards sustainability.

The viewing of the panels was followed by screening of the film “A Quiet Revolution” and ended with a lively ‘interaction session’.

The exhibition is a joint initiative of the SGI and the Earth Charter International and it introduces a positive vision for sustainable living that can contribute to the realization of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The virtual exhibition was viewed by around 300 students. A group of BSG Campus group students presented the panels to the audience with great enthusiasm.

The college music club “Treble Makers” performed a fusion of 3 songs in sync with the heart of SOHA exhibition. The performance was met with enthusiastic applause.

The viewing of the panels was followed by a lively interactive session. The students asked many questions, focus on encouraging “Power of one individual” “How we need to take action for SDGs now!” and “How students hold key to our future”.

In her closing remarks, Dr. Meena Galliara, Director, Jasani Center for Sustainability Management & Social Entrepreneurship, NMIMS, expressed her deep appreciation to BSG and expressed a desire to continue to collaborate with BSG to hold such exhibitions frequently.

Virtual Exhibition Titled ‘SEEDS OF HOPE & ACTION (SOHA) Held In New Era Public School, New Delhi

The Exhibition ‘Seeds of Hope & Action (SOHA): Making the SDGs a Reality’ was held on 13th and 15th July 2021 for the students of class 8/9/10 of New Era Public School, New Delhi

The exhibition stresses our interconnectedness with the rest of the community of life and the need to broaden our sphere of compassion. It encourages viewers to overcome feelings of powerlessness and highlights the fact that a single individual can initiate positive change.

The virtual exhibition was viewed by around 700 students and teachers on both days. A group of ‘Peer Mentors’ took the lead and explained the exhibition panels in detail. At the end of the presentation, students shared their views and asked many questions which reflected their earnestness in finding solutions for the global issues.

On 15th July 2021, the second day of the exhibition, screening of the film “A Quiet Revolution” was held which was and ended with a buoyant ‘interaction session’.

The students and the school authorities thanked BSG for this initiative and expressed their desire for similar session in the future.
