Bharat Soka Gakkai (BSG) participated as a speaker at Navtika Symposium 5.0, organised by Salwan Education Trust held virtually on 7 February 2026.
The theme – Nurturing Sustainability: Integrating SDGs into Early Learning – explored integrating sustainability within Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE).
Representing BSG, Ms. Jaya Rao – Head of External Relations, Media and Sustainability, emphasised giving children agency and moving from awareness to action. She spoke about BSG’s focus on fostering Sustainable Human Behavior (SHB) – nurturing everyday habits and values that support sustainability, and highlighted how hands-on practices such as waste segregation and composting cultivate leadership, critical thinking, and lasting behavioural change that empower children to become active contributors to sustainable communities.
The symposium brought together educators and sustainability experts committed to strengthening ECCE through research and action.
BSG’s participation reaffirmed its commitment to advancing SDGs through value-based education and community engagement.
