Every year since 1983, in order to present concrete solutions to a variety of global problems or threats that seriously impact people’s lives, livelihoods, and dignity, Ikeda has been authoring annual peace proposals. Through these proposals, Ikeda has often urged ordinary citizens to take lead in creating this 21st century as a century of peace, a century of life.
Ikeda says, “Everyone can be engaged in education for peace. It can be as simple as taking the time to talk with the children and young people in our lives―in our homes and communities―about the dignity of life and the equality of people. We must never underestimate the impact of such seemingly small efforts.”
In order to spread greater awareness on each person’s role in creating a peaceful and hope-filled world, the Peace Conclave will have a panel discussion, where four eminent leaders from society will join in an engaging conversation and share their personal experiences on how they are contributing to peace, thereby highlighting the power of one individual.

ABOUT SUSTAINABILITY CONCLAVE
Ikeda is a strong advocate of the SDGs and has shared various ideas and thoughts in his proposals on how to create a sustainable new age. He has often emphasized that rather than a top-down approach, it is a bottom-up approach that will bring about lasting change in society and help in creating a culture of sustainability.
Ikeda says, “We must not consider the pursuit of sustainability as simply a matter of adjusting policies in order to find a better balance between economic and ecological imperatives. Rather, sustainability must be understood as a challenge and undertaking requiring the commitment of all individuals.”
In order to spread greater awareness on each person’s role in adapting a sustainable lifestyle, the Sustainability Conclave will have a panel discussion, where four eminent leaders from society will join in an engaging conversation and share their views on sustainability and the power of one individual, along with sharing their personal experiences.
