Symposium on President Ikeda's Peace Proposal

Peace Proposal 2008
On August 25, 2008 Bharat Soka Gakkai (BSG) and the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA) organised a seminar: "Harmonising Religion, Creating Peace” based on Dr Daisaku Ikeda's 2008 Peace Proposal submitted to the United Nations.

Peace Proposal 2006
BSG marked August 9, the anniversary of the bombing of Nagasaki, in Japan, with a symposium in New Delhi on Dr Ikeda's 2006 Peace Proposal:  A New Era of the People: Forging a Global Network of Robust Individuals. 

Dr Abid Hussain, former Indian Ambassador to the US, declared that "empowerment of an individual can create a peaceful new world order". Other eminent speakers included Ms Shalini Dewan, DirectorUN Information Centre and His Excellency Kemal Muftic, Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina. (Press Release)

Peace Proposal 2005
In August 2005, BSG and Times Foundation organised a symposium in New Delhi on the 2005 Peace Proposal - ‘Towards a New Era of Dialogue: Humanism Explored’.

Dr RK Pachauri, Director-General of Tata Energy Research Institute, delivered the keynote address. The other speakers were Dr LM Singhvi, Member of Parliament and former High Commissioner to the United Kingdom and Mr Lalit Mansingh, Former Ambassador to US. (Press Release)

Peace Proposal 2004
A seminar ‘Inner Transformation: Creating a Global Groundswell for Peace’, centred on the Peace Proposal for 2004, was held in New Delhi in July 2004. 

Prof MS Swaminathan, UNESCO Chair in Eco Technology and President, PUGWASH Conference on Science and World Affairs, delivered the keynote address. The other speakers were Mr Kuldip Nayar, eminent journalist and former Member of the Rajya Sabha and High Commissioner to UK and Mr Salman Khurshid, eminent politician and former minister.
