Building a Culture of Peace for the Children of the World
An exhibition to promote Peace. It  is not just a collection of panels, but an experience that leaves viewers confident that they can be protagonists in the drama of building a culture of peace. When people view the callous or violent trends around them, they are often left with a feeling of powerlessness and helplessness. This exhibition aims to counteract that feeling, to make each viewer feel he can be a major player in the drama of building a culture of peace. Details

Gandhi, King, Ikeda: A legacy of building peace
This exhibition showcases the lives of Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Luther King and Daisaku Ikeda, who though from different countries and cultures, were linked by a common vision which they worked towards with determination. These towering figures show that peace is possible through non-violence. Viewed by over 70,000 people in Delhi, Chennai, Mumbai, Bangalore, Thiruvananthapuram, Pune and Nashik since March 2002, this exhibition will travel to Kolkata, Guwahati, Shimla, Jaipur, Kanpur and other cities across India.

The exhibition, chronicles the life and work of the three peace leaders. It highlights the spirit and aims at revisiting the values of non-violence and Gandhian principles. When erosion of values and a climate of conflict have shaken society to the core, now, more than ever, it is necessary to return to core beliefs.

Since the future lies in the hands of youth, it is their attitudes and beliefs that need to be moulded into ones that promote peace and respect human dignity. BSG believes that the most effective way to do this is to introduce youth to the Gandhian way (particularly non-violence as a tool for change) and establish its relevance in the contemporary context.  In order to foster long-term peace-oriented thought and behaviour, special initiatives are taken by BSG’s Education Division to bring a large number of schoolchildren to this exhibition.

Seeds of Change: The Earth Charter & Human Potential
"Sometimes I tell myself, I may only be planting a tree here, but just imagine what's happening if there are billions of people out there doing something. Just imagine the power of what we can do," says Nobel Peace Prize winner Wangari Maathai, who inspired the Green Belt Movement amongst the women of Kenya to check deforestation in their country. This is but one of the messages offered by the award-winning Seeds of Change exhibit, initially created by the SGI and the Earth Charter Initiative for the 2002 World Summit on Sustainable Development in Johannesburg. Since its debut in Johannesburg in 2002, ‘Seeds of Change’ has toured several cities across the globe and attracted thousands of viewers.

Dialogue with Nature
A display of 95 stunning photographs taken by Dr Daisaku Ikeda have been showcased in 73 cities in 32 countries attracting over 7.5 million viewers before coming to India in November 2003. The photographs, many of them accompanied by short poems, have been taken during his travels. Curiously, he never uses a viewfinder. Instead, "I use my heart to photograph," he says. He describes his photographs a “struggle to capture the truth”. Encouraging a culture of co-existence between man and environment, this exhibition has been viewed by over 50,000 people in Delhi, Bangalore, Mumbai and Kolkata.

Lotus Sutra Exhibition
This exhibition brought together a rare collection of artefacts, calligraphic and pictorial representations of the Lotus Sutra, the central text of Mahayana Buddhism that embodies a philosophy of unlimited hope and self-empowerment and brims with practical advice for daily living. Held in August 2003 in New Delhi, this unusual exhibition brought together originals and reproductions of items created in the early part of recorded history. These were from India, Nepal, China and Japan — from regions along the legendary Silk Route, particularly Dunhuang, and some in languages now considered archaic.
